Filing an industrial design application by conventional approach


Patentable subjects: any new design of the shape, the pattern or their combination, or the combination of the color with shape or pattern of a whole product or a partial product.

 

Documents for filing an industrial design application includes:

Drawings, at least two sets of drawings or photos (front, rear, top, bottom, right and left views in orthogonal view, plus a perspective view);

Power of attorney (duly executed by applicant);

Certified priority documents, if the priority is claimed;

Assignment for priority right, if any;

 

Language: Chinese

 

Procedure:

Forwarding an application for industrial design to CNIPA;

Preliminary examination (about 5~8 months from filing date);

Granting stage.


Patent right duration: 15 years
